Star Bulk Acquires more Vessels

Star Bulk Carriers Corporation, the main principal of StarOcean Manning Philippines, Inc., continues its expansion with the recent acquisition of seven (7) operating dry bulk vessels from E.R. Capital Holding GmbH & Cie. KG.

“I am very pleased that Star Bulk is acquiring a high quality, modern fleet,” Petros Pappas, Chief Executive Officer of Star Bulk, commented.“

“We are excited to expand our footprint in the Capesize segment, especially in a period that the dry bulk market is tightening. It is also with great pleasure to welcome a prominent ship owner, Mr. Erck Rickmers, to our shareholder base and believe that this transaction validates once again Star Bulk’s ability to use our shares as currency in accretive acquisitions for our shareholders.“

This acquisition is in addition to the purchase of sixteen (16) dry bulk vessels from Augustea Atlantica SpA and York Capital Management in August 2018.  Sometime in June 2018, the company also acquired three (3) dry bulk carriers from Oceanbulk Container Carriers LLC and fifteen (15) operating vessels from Songa Bulk ASA.

With these acquisitions, current and prospective seafarers have better employment opportunities in a diversified fleet of high-quality bulkers,” says Alexandros Tsitsonis, Crew Director of Star Bulk Carriers Corp.

StarOcean Manning Philippines, Inc., invites talented seafarers to become part of its growing family.  After all, StarOcan is “your home on shore,” says Vivian Novenario-Ongpin, President of  StarOcean.
